Hart said Everett Public Schools is showing academic progress through improved test scores, MCAS and ACCESS results, attendance, and tardiness, and outlined program expansion plans including new multimedia production, broadcast, and public safety CTE options, expanded CTE offerings, full-day pre-K, and Spanish and Portuguese dual immersion programs. Councilor Garcia asked about classroom space, residency checks, and staffing for the pre-K expansion, and Hart said full-day pre-K could be accommodated without adding space by combining sessions, with special education services continuing and only limited additional staffing potentially needed.
