Everett School Committee (Monday June 1, 2026)

At the Everett School Committee meeting on Monday, June 1, 2026, Margaret Cornelio participated in several procedural and substantive actions and voted in favor of each recorded motion.

Early in the meeting, Cornelio seconded the motion to open public comment. She also seconded the motion to suspend the rules and take the school spotlight out of order, as well as a subsequent motion to invite Dr. Braga and the students to come forward and speak. When the committee turned to a guest appearance, Cornelio said, “I’d like to make a motion to invite Miss Whitson, please.” The committee then voted on that motion, and Cornelio’s motion to invite Miss Whitson was approved by a yes vote.

Cornelio later moved to excuse the guest, stating, “Motion to excuse our guest.” That motion also passed with her support. In the grant portion of the meeting, Cornelio said, “Make a motion to accept the grant for the immigrant children and youth grant in the amount of $65,831.” The committee approved the motion to accept the Title III Part A immigrant children and youth grant in the amount of $65,831, and Cornelio voted yes.

Everett School Committee (Tuesday April 28, 2026)

At the Everett School Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Margaret Cornelio participated in the proceedings primarily through motions and votes during the public hearing portions of the agenda.
