At the Everett School Committee meeting on Monday, June 1, 2026, Jeanne Cristiano participated in several procedural and substantive votes and made multiple motions on the floor.

Early in the meeting, she moved “to suspend the rules and take school spotlight out of order,” and voted yes when the committee approved that motion. She was also noted as present with central administration at the school spotlight, where attendees were there “to cheer students on and wish them the best.”

Later, Cristiano moved “to accept, waive the reading and accept the finance and negotiation” subcommittee report. She also said, “Madam Chairman, I’d like to submit bills and payroll in the amount of $2,271,989.40,” and then followed with a motion “to pay bills and payroll in the amount of $2,271,989.40.” Her remarks indicated support for processing the committee’s regular financial business, and she voted yes when that matter came to a roll call vote.

Cristiano cast yes votes on the major action items that came before the committee. She supported the “Acceptance of the Everett Public Schools district wellness policy” and the “Acceptance of the Title III Part A immigrant children and youth grant in the amount of $65,831.” She also voted yes on entering executive session.

Her recorded comments were brief and procedural. In addition to the motions above, she twice said “Yes.” during the meeting, reflecting her support for the questions being called. The record does not indicate that she raised concerns or opposed any of the items voted on. Instead, her participation centered on advancing the agenda, approving routine business, and supporting committee actions by voice and roll call.

At the Everett School Committee-Budget Committee of the Whole meeting on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Jeanne Cristiano opened her remarks by thanking the chair: “Thank you, Madam Chairman.” She said she had “a few observations and a possible question” for the superintendent, then commended Superintendent Hart for guiding the budget process “in a calm and careful manner.”

Cristiano also used her comments to publicly recognize the mayor and city administration. She said, “I think it’s also very, very important that we thank the mayor,” and offered “personal[ly] and obviously publicly” thanks “for answering the call and making accommodations without chargebacks.” She added that “it is very clear from reviewing this year’s budget book that Mayor Van Campen and his great team prevented a tough situation from getting appreciably worse.” Her remarks reflected a clear position that the city’s cooperation was important to stabilizing the budget.

She then shifted to program growth, saying, “It’s awesome to hear that we’re adding two new CET programs next year.” Cristiano praised the district’s expansion plans, noting, “To be able to add Chapter 74 programs along with a full day Pre K and dual immersion program is really a testament to our superintendent and his leadership team.” She emphasized the importance of sustaining growth by “smartly us[ing] the awesome resources we already have, namely our school teachers.”

Cristiano followed with a question for the superintendent: “But can you talk a little bit about how you were thinking about our budget planning as an ongoing endeavor?” After that exchange, she closed her comments by saying, “I have no other questions. Thank you, Madam Chair.”

In the meeting’s vote, Cristiano cast a yes vote on the motion to adjourn. No other votes or motions were attributed to her in the extracted record.
