Everett Ways and Means Committee (Monday April 13, 2026)

At the April 13, 2026 Everett Ways and Means Committee meeting, Eric Molinari identified himself as “a transportation planner with the Department of Transportation Mobility here at the city.” He was present to answer questions about Bluebikes station planning and related project details.

Molinari explained that “the station is planned to go on the corner of 2nd Street and Vine Street” and said it would be “on the property of the developer as a part of the process.” He added that when a developer donates a station, city staff “work that out ahead of time so that it’s not going to encroach too much on the public right of way.” He said he did not remember the exact design “off the top of my head right now,” but offered to provide that information later.

In response to committee questions, Molinari confirmed that the Bluebikes station was required by the planning board. He also confirmed that the infrastructure had been designed to accommodate bikes, and said there had been “expansion of the public amenities down there” as part of the same project. When asked about funding consequences, he said unused grant money would be lost and, when pressed on whether there was a deadline, replied, “I would have to check on that.” He also responded “Absolutely” when offered the chance to follow up or provide additional information.

Molinari described what would happen if the funding request were approved: “we would then reach out to Blue Bikes and put in an order, get a quote, you know, send the PO.” He estimated delivery would be “roughly mid-summer to the end of summer,” adding that this was “just a guess.” When asked about delay timing, he estimated “about a month.”

No votes were taken by Molinari during the meeting, and no motions or formal actions by him were recorded in the extracted material. He also offered handouts with general information about the Bluebikes system.
