The council heard testimony from members of the public and State Senator De Domenico in support of the wage theft ordinance, and members discussed its effects on workers, small businesses, and enforcement. Stephanie Martins moved to add Alcee Jabouin as a cosponsor and then approve item 19 as amended; the ordinance received favorable action as amended, with Michael Marchese voting no and the other recorded councilors voting yes.
